  • ECO Committee

We believe that it is vitally important that our children have high values and care about the environment around us. For this reason, we have the hard work and knowledge of Miss Foulger and Mrs Stone leading our Eco Committee Team this year.

The Eco Committee Team at HPJ comprises of a mix of children from Year 3 through to Year 6. The team meets regularly to discuss current issues around the environment and school and how they can be address. The team take an active role in school to raise awareness about sustainability and encourage everyone to be good at recycling and saving energy where possible.

Every new project undertaken at school takes their environmental consequences into consideration as we try to minimise our impact on the environment.

For their first project in September 2023, we are planning on setting up pen recycling stations in every classroom and office throughout the school. The committee will be responsible for ensuring the boxes are emptied on a regular basis and sent off for recycling.

3rd October

This afternoon the Eco Warriors had a very productive lunchtime meeting. The team mind-mapped some ideas together and would like to ask any parents who may have a spare houseplant that they would like to donate to HPJS. We would love to bring more greenery into the school!

ECO Warriors 2023-24

Our ECO warriors, as well as all the children in the school, enjoy looking after our school garden.
