Geography
"The study of geography is about more than just memorizing places on a map. It's about understanding the complexity of our world, appreciating the diversity of cultures that exist across continents. And, in the end, it's about using all that knowledge to help bridge divides and bring people together."
President Barack Obama, 2012
Geography Curriculum Intent:
As a federation, we believe that our Geography curriculum should capture children’s interests and allow them to explore the fascinating world we live in. Our aim is to inspire curiosity and fascination about the world, equip them with knowledge about diverse places, people and resources whilst understanding the human and physical processes that have formed and shaped our landscapes.
Our Geography curriculum, which draws on links with other wider-curriculum subjects, aims to develop children as local, national and global citizens. Within each Geography topic, an exploration of the people, places or environments will ensure children gain a deep awareness of their place in the world, a connection to the world’s people through a sense of community and a responsibility for all environments. |

Our Concepts: Directional, Fieldwork, Human and Physical, Location and Place, Mapwork, Trade and Settlement, and Weather and Climate.
