Personal, Social, Health & Relationship Education

PSHRE Curriculum Intent:
At Hamworthy Primary Schools, we teach Relationships and Health Education (RHE) as a whole-school approach to underpin children’s personal, social & emotional development. Research shows that where children have strong self-belief, positive self-esteem and enabling relationships they are best placed to be successful learners and have the fundamental building blocks to have healthy relationships with other children and adults. We aim to provide our children with a rich curriculum that will equip them to be more informed, confident and skilled so that they can take an active and responsible part in society and enhance their learning, motivation and achievement.
NSPCC PANTS
At Hamworthy Primary Schools, we participate in the Talk PANTS NSPCC programme.
Talk PANTS helps children understand that their body belongs to them, and they should tell someone they trust if anything makes them feel upset or worried. We know that a simple conversation can make a BIG difference, and that's what Talk PANTS is all about.
PSHRE in Action:
In the Autumn Term 2023, Year 5 enjoyed a day with Paul Stevens, who came to talk to the children about respectful relationships and anti-bullying, to tie in with our Kindness Week. Paul ensures children have a really active participation level when he is with us and his work is always thought provoking and impactful for everyone.
